Independent design exploration
About this concept
This is an independent, unofficial design exploration created by David Andrea, a Nova Scotia-based software developer and former teacher.
This concept began after I received a Fair Vote Canada email describing plans to overhaul the website, particularly to improve the experience for people discovering the organization for the first time. I independently chose to explore one possible approach: clearer electoral-system education, responsible presentation of evidence, a clearer path from learning to action, and a clearer distinction between current and completed campaigns.
The prototype’s information architecture starts with a visitor who knows little about proportional representation: helping them understand the problem, examine the evidence, and find a useful way to act.
It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Fair Vote Canada. It does not claim to represent Fair Vote Canada’s internal requirements or a final production architecture.
I would be glad to discuss the reasoning behind the concept and learn about Fair Vote Canada’s actual needs.
